Hello all. I have a Skil 1820 router. It is a plung router and my impression is that this is the same plunge base that comes with the 1825 combo kit but mine doesnt have the fixed base, but I'm not sure. Can anyone positively confirm whether the Jasper Jigs models 200 and 400 work with a Skil 1820?

Thank you

The jasper jig will fit any router on the planet,as long as the router has a flat base, even if the screw holes dont line up,all you have to do is mount it using the supplied alignment pin and drill holes in the jig that line up with the screw holes in the router base.It works,I've done it.

Thanks both of you. I have contacted Jasper, but I will probably go ahead and purchase it knowing I can still use it worse case scenario.

Thanks again.

If it does not come predrilled for your router all you have to do is use the supplied pin for aligning your router and drill holes to fit your routers base. It is very simple and almost idiot proof.

My 1820 is dedicated to cutting circles with the jasper Jigs. It'll mount either directly to the base casting or over the Skil baseplate (the mounting holes are accessible through the baseplate.) IIRC the 400 works fine too (it's been a while since I've used it.)

One suggestion: you need dust collection if you're cutting circles in MDF. Either get the Skil dust collector adapter or make your own (I did the latter.)

After trying a bunch of different bits, I settled on the 1/4" CMT carbide spiral upcut bits. I love 'em.
