ok slowly getting around to finishing my home theatre which consists of the D8 mtm's , quatro 15 sub ( in progress ) and an onkyo TX-SR601 receiver.

the onkyo is powerful and handles low impedances nicely. so far its cranked the d8's to their limit with 65% power.

anyway its a 6.1 amp and its time to make use of it so my plan is to build 2 tri-unes as a front and rear center channel, and then the D3's as the rear left and right.

sounds like overkill mabe, but i can afford it, anyone give me a good reason not to do this? or have a better idea?

thanks.

You can afford it? Build Another Q15 while you're working on the triunes... ;-) Sounds like quite the system you've got there... You should post pics when complete.

I would make all the surrounds Triunes...they have better midrange performance than the D3's and you really don't need any more bass since you have the D8's and quatro. Also triunes are easier to build and less expensive.

ya have a good point there, after much thought i think ill build em all triunes like you suggest.....jus cause i got some extra $$ now dosent mean i should squander it i guess, though im sure alot of people wouldnt say the d3's are squandering :-)
