I finally finished the top boxes off (well except crossover and the parts are due Thursday). Still need to finish off the bottoms. Maybe tomorrow or Monday. This is the RS28 and RS125. I'm using the RS225 in the lower box. This is a modular design where the tops sit on top of the bass box. As you can see the RS drivers and black lacquer go together well. Nice little offset of color. Nice looking drivers but can't comment on the sound at this time :-). Enjoy, Paul.

So you aren't going to show the world the rest of the pics yet, huh? I can't wait until the finished project is unleashed on us. Man they do look great so far.

Paul:Do you paint the boxes black and then apply clear lacquer?,or is it pre-mixed.
In any event they look great...Bob C.

Hey bob, your stuff looks great too. I've tried numerous ways and found that a couple of good coats of black lacquer, then a couple of good coats of clear work pretty good as long as you don't sand down to the black. Then it gets messy real quick. The best polish I've found so far that is pretty cheap is the turtle wax series at auto parts stores. I then use a good paste wax like Mother's for the final finish.

Do not apply wax for a few months to ensure the paint cures properly.

This depends on what you use for the finish. While a good enamel takes months to cure, a lacquer can take as few as 36 hours to cure. That's why I like using it over enamel. Enamel is so slow in curing. These top boxes were probably cured about a month and the bottoms about the same when I get them done.

Nope, probably not until this coming weekend. I need to finish polishing and waxing the bottom boxes. I figure one tonight and one tomorrow night. That leaves Wednesday night for taking measruements, and then the weekend to put the crossover's together. So maybe this weekend we can see the final version. Believe me, I am anticipating this as much as everyone else. :-)
