I lost my woodshop space in my last move, so i need to pay someone to build some cabinets for my Seas Excel / Hiquphon 3-way. I have the basic design done, but am open to suggestions. I am not particularly picky about fine finish details. i would be very grateful to anyone who can spare the time. I also need ideas for veneer choice. I want something to highlight the copper in the excels. I like the idea of a fiery redish-orange stain on a something with fairly deep grain.

Design Simulation:

Driver data:

<A HREF="http://www.seas.no/PDF">http://www.seas.no/PDF</A>%20data%20excel%2005/W12CY001E0021.pdf
<A HREF="http://www.hiquphon.dk/page4.html#top">http://www.hiquphon.dk/page4.html#top</A>

Veneer possibilities:
<A HREF="http://www.joewoodworker.com/catalog/images/etmcly2356.jpg">http://www.joewoodworker.com/catalog/images/etmcly2356.jpg</A>
<A HREF="http://www.wood-veneers.com/samples/_douka_quilt.jpg">http://www.wood-veneers.com/samples/_douka_quilt.jpg</A>
<A HREF="http://www.wood-veneers.com/samples/__maidou_burl.jpg">http://www.wood-veneers.com/samples/__maidou_burl.jpg</A>

I intended to use a 1.5" front baffle specifically because i wanted a 1" (or larger) roundover. i will mail the builder the $45 bit i already purchased. I understand that rounding all 4 edges of the front baffle will be difficult to veneer. One idea i had was to not round the top front and bottom edges. Then, we might roundover the top back edge so that we could use just 2 pieces of veneer: 1 piece would go from top to back. the second could wrap from the left side panel around the 1" radius baffle roundover to the front and on around to the right side panel. I don't care about the bottom.

If necessary, i can mail the builder the drivers for flush mount cut-outs. if you live in the southeast and would like to help with the xover design... i could swing by with a couple bottles of wine as well :)
