Ok... i am done. This is the Olives in the finished stage. Pimentos and all! Not the volume control base with a slot for my iPod shuffle and of course the volume knob had to be an olive.
No regrets... other then the aweful painting disasters that happened.
The system sounds great!

That line is too straight. Give me the hammer.
That is better.

Thanks for the complement Andy.. Maybe one of these days i can build a box as curvy and beautiful as yours.

......but last week I built a sub, and its a rectangular box, on outside anyway.
It is designed to be a continuance of my main HiFi cabinet though, so its sort of allowed to be rectangular.

That's hilarious Chad! I like what you did with the dust caps. Definitely a sharp looking setup!

is that he has managed to keep in the realms of theroetical correctness. This is really quite difficult to do with 'different' designs!!

I am thinking of building a computer setup and this amp looks like a nice way to amplify a little system. Not very high powered, but then I don't suppose it really needs to be for the application. The active crossover is ahead of stereo channels isn't it? I wold think this might make it a little easier to tune the sub to the speakers.

what is that ugly rectangular box between them.... ruins the whole pic;-))
If its the sub, I do hope something is planned to replace it real soon !!!!

You are correct Andy. I knew such a straight lined thing would not escape you.
The next version of the sub will be either Olive Jar, or Liquor bottle shaped.
This is olive project version 1.
Just wait until version 2. Be patient.

I shall be patient !! I know how awkward these things can be to plan and make, but at least you are making the effort, which is really cool !!!

The Keiga amp is really nice, but expensive!
PE has to pick up this idea. With all of the Apple iPods running around and people listening to music off of there computer.
The crossover on the amp decides how much Hz goes to the satellites and sub. So if i set it at 120Hz. The satellites get 120Hz and above and the sub gets 120Hz and lower.
It is perfect for near field listening.

Absolutely marvelous. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the sub. That has to be one of the most original designs I've ever seen with my own eyes. Beautiful, Chad.

Maybe it will be the project that helps some other people start thinking "outside the rectangular box" !!
Come on guys !!!!

Thanks Shawn,
It all started with my brother. He was spitting out these really impressive turned bowls and objects on the lathe. I had to do something for a speaker!
The true test will be DIY Dayton. I want to get feedback on my Soundeasy based crossover design.

And it's very difficult for me to think outside the box and outside my "parameters". My wife and family just call them my ruts.

That's got to be one of the coolest looking project I've seen in a LONG time. Good job.

Thanks James, like i said. My inspiration is from my brother. He was the one turning the wood that inspired me to take this on. I just picked his brain.

Nice job! Paint looks really good too. Pementos! I think you nailed the project on the head/minds of most people here- Liquor, Food, and Speakers!
