Many thanks to the good folks answering my recent question.
Secondly, would anyone know of a source of tech info on making an active, line level crossover. The crossover would link one pre-amp to a pair of amps, one for highs and one for bass. (home audio).
Let me know what you think, Thanks.

Getting the PCBs may be an issue (he's in Australia, I believe.) His circuits are solid, though, and he does spell out the theory quite well. The circuit below is a stereo 24 dB Linkwitz-Riley 2-way XO. With the component values shown, it crosses at 310 Hz. He also provides an XO calculator you can download.
WinISD includes an active crossover calculator for first and second-order XOs (not Linkwitz-Riley, which are 4th-order (24 dB/octave); tell it the frequency you want and it'll tell you the parts values you need. For goodness' sake, though, don't use a 741 for the opamp!

I use an audio control 2xs (made for car audio) that I wasn't using. It has a high quality power supply, very quiet, even though it's run off a 12 unregulated power supply. This has s/n ratio of 115db, 18db per octive filters and 18db subsonic filter.
