Well, I finely got around to getting the veneer and the Paduk bafle of tonight. Just need to finish sanding them. Not too sure how i'll do the final finish on them. a clear coat of some sort. That or a few coats of sealer, and a week of sitting around rubbing a wax finish on.
Sorry for the poor image quality, The Paduk is actualy a lot deeper in colour than what it shows in the picture.

Rene,

I used natural Watco on my padauk. The pic below is how mine looks. When applying the Watco I saturate the piece then wet sand it with 400 grit. It comes real smooth - just like a baby's ****.

the wax finish I did on these turned out nice. But it takes a hell of a lot of work to get it looking like this.

Not too shabby of a table saw, the guide fence is a little on the poor side, but I just screw a length of MDF to it and it works fine.

Yeah, the guide fence definately isn't the greatest but it's a great novice saw.

That's why I use the Watco - not so much work involved. I also think oil finishes bring out more depth of the wood, plus I think it seals the grain better than wax alone. I've been using Watco for years. You can put wax over Watco after it has dried.
