I love Hafler amps, have 8 of them, so am 2 over my limit. These two I must sell are the picks of their litters. They are both extremely clean and look just like new, about as good as it gets. I've sold a couple of other amps here so you can be assured I am reliable. When I say an amp is a 9+/10, it is just that. Both amps have been checked out for DC offset and bias. All working parameters are up to factory specification. They are both just like new and perform flawlessly!

The DH-220 is the venerable workhorse of the fleet. It sports the latest circuit boards (PC-19C) plus I replaced the large filter caps with newer ones two years ago and also bypassed them with polyproplylene film caps. The inputs have been replaced with quality gold jacks. All in all the amp sounds just great and the upgrade mods do make a difference. It provides 115 watts per channel and it will drive 4 ohms loads at around 170 watts per channel all day long without a whimper.

The Hafler Series 9130 is one of the nicest sounding solid state amps. Its parts have been upgraded from its earlier DH-120 cousins with lots of polypropylene film caps. It has a refined, clean sound that is hard to beat. Although only 60 watts per channel it sounds more powerful and will easily drive 4 ohm loads. It can be bridged to provide 150 watts of mono power into an 8 ohm load.

The DH-220 amps are selling for around $150-$250 on eBay. Here are examples of two of them:

The Hafler 9130 amps usually sell for $140-$200. Here is an example of one recent sale:

I am asking $145 + $25 shipping for the DH-220.

For the hafler 9130 I am asking $130 + $20 shipping.

You can see I am asking less to move these beauties without the hassle of an eBay auction. I pack very carefully and will ship via UPS with a tracking number provided. PayPal is preferred.

I can't post pictures here but will be glad to send some to you via email. Thanks for your interest.

The DH-220 is sold but the Series 9130 is still available.

The 9130 has a sweet, refined sound and on small groups or ensembles with fairly efficient speakers it gives a very good "you are there" experience. With my 3-ways speakers the Diana Krall "Live in Paris" really shines.

Don't pass up this good deal.

Sorry for "coming late to the table" w/ this post. I love Hafler amps, too. I have 4 XL-280s doing 5.X HT duty, shopping for a 5th to expand to 7.X; details are a long story for another day. Have designs to lightly tweek my present and future "children!"

The DH-220... ...I replaced the large filter caps with newer ones* two years ago and also bypassed them with polyproplylene film caps*.

can you PM me the details/specs*, & maybe where I can buy them?

thanks in advance, tony

Thanks for your interest in Haflers. Mine are long gone and the ones I have here for my HT system are not for sale.

You might monitor eBay for Hafler amps. Many are listed over time. Most of them might require a little touch up with cap replacements but their basic topology is solid.

Good luck

This is an option that seems relevant

I 2nd the suggestion of the Musical Concepts kit to replace the circuit cards in a Hafler. I have two reference amps in my music room. One has the Musical Concepts boards, the other is a highly modified/upgraded Hafler DH-200. They each have their appeal.

Get a non-working DH-200/220 chassis cheaply on an eBay auction and fill it with the Musical Concepts replacement signal cards for a pleasant experience. You also should consider getting their power supply caps as well :).

P.S. I have an empty chassis that I could refurbish if you want to go the Musical Concepts route.
