What do you suggest to clean and prep the surface of wood prior to applying vinyl laminate? Almost finished with my project just need some advise.

Thanks,
Clint

If it's MDF, just sand the bejeebus out of if it and wipe with a tack cloth...The laminate is pretty darn sticky...if it's wood, well do the same, but it'll probably take a bit more effort....

Yes it is wood so just sand it smooth and tack it? No need for a primer like laminate flooring?

Probably wouldn't hurt, and if it helps seal and smooth the cabinet, even better. I used some on plywood stands I made without primer though...but it has to be smoooth, the vinyl reveals bumps, even dust. Take your time trimming too, the stuff cuts very easily.
