quick question:

I just read in an amp's user manual, "Bridged mono loads should be wired with a Class One insulated wire" What's that supposed to mean??????????? I probably know this, But I've never heard this term being used.

Nick (a fast response would be very nice)

Class 1 is low voltage, below 48V.

Hmmmm. I thought it was the other way around - that class 1 was "standard building power wiring practice, as per code", and that class 2 was for low voltage. And that class 2 was to be used only below 30 volts, and only on power-limited circuits below 150 volt-amps (where it supposedly won't start a fire even if short-circuited). Most power amps fit this category (at nominal 1/8 power) run stereo, but may go over the class 2 limits bridged.

Sorry, was going from memory. I don't carry around an NEC book anymore....
