Thanks to the posters below for the replys on frequency range. The more I learn about this hobby the more I realize how much I don't know. F3 in half-space, does this refer to reinforcement from the walls?? -Thanks Dane-O

Actually half-space or 2pi space would be if the speaker were positioned directly against the wall or built into it. The Baffle step compensation comes into play when you move the speaker out from the wall and the speaker radiates into full space (4pi) 2pi space will have 6 dB of gain as opposed to a 4pi environment. As the speaker frequency is increased, the wavelengths are smaller and supported by the front baffle, so the driver gradually ‘sees’ a transition from 4pi to 2pi space at higher frequencies.
