I bought a piece of Corian off of ebay last week. I am going to make a router table with it. Any tips for fastening and stuff (screws, glue, whatever)?

I am going to attach it to a piece of MDF for thickness, and put in a router table plate to mount the router to. I'll drop in some t-tracks and a fence and be good to go.

Corian makes a special 2 part epoxy for their solid surface material. I am not sure what type of epoxy it is but I have used it in the past and it really works well. It comes in a cool syringe mixer applicator with about 5 ounces of glue. It is pretty expensive but I think the seam is guaranteed to be stronger than the corian itself.

Doesn't contact cement bond almost instantly?

the best way to attach corian type materials to MDF is with good ol' silicone. Contact adhesivs work but as you know, you get one shot at it. The special adhesive for corian is not necessary unless you plan to join it to itself and don't want to see the seem(like in a kitchen or bathroom). Infact, when corian type tops are made, they are blocked up on a plywood or mdf grid plate to help level it out over the cabinet boxes, and this substructure is attached with silicone. Other than that, you can cut, mill, route and other wise treat this stuff like really heavy and brittle mdf. Good sharp carbide and a dust mask are required!
