I'm thinking about picking up a roll of the microphone cable that's on sale. Anyone have a suggestion for RCA plugs to go with it (I'm thinking along the lines of the best cheap ones that PE sells - WBT are out of the question).

And as for connecting the shield to the ground - one end? both ends? neither?

thanks,
jon

I've built interconnects out of similar cable (100-220). I used these connectors:

I connected the shield to one end. They work well.

I currently use interconnects made from a twisted pair of wires out of a cat5 cable. No shielding, and no noise :)

I've also heard RG6 or RG59 coax is good for interconnects.

I use these. Not bad for a buck and half each. 3 colors available.

Those were the ones I was looking at. Is that red ring around the connector just an elastic or is it painted on? I'm just wondering if it could come off and get lost.

Colby,

Are those connectors metal or plastic? And also, what do the red ones look like? Are they completely red instead of black or do they just have a red marking on it.

thanks for the response,
j
