I literally picked them up off the curb! The boxes are in good shape. Both grills are trashed. The planer tweeters and dome mids look fine. But the dual 8" woofer's surrounds are gone. I'll test the drivers out tomorrow. If everything works are these worth $33.50 (from ebay - shipped) for new foam surrounds? Anyone use these speakers before? They were built in the 80's. FR = 50hz - 32Khz. tmww tower design, Sorry I don't have a digital camera so no pics.

TIA,
Duane B

My bud the drummer bought a pair of RS2s... And gave them his "test." He tests things. One of 'em died (no real surprise...) and I used the other one for a rear channel for a while. Not a bad speaker. Gave it back to him when his center channel died (no real surprise), and it died a valiant death about a month ago. I miss it.

I'd fix 'em.

Bogie, I'd love to get my mitts on the emit tweets if they are still around. New diaphrams are way expensive but Quite often they can be repaired.

Trust me, if they were still kicking, I'd have already dissected 'em. Think of it this way... A Phase Linear 700 with the volume all the way up, and at least it died a quick death.

I tested these and all the drivers work! Of course the woofs need surrounds, I need to find a 1.25A fuse, and new grills need to be made.

Any idea what these big guys are worth once they are fixed?

One very happy garbage picker,
