I am on my 3rd crossover this weekend. Lets, just say I'm honing in on the target and am very, very, close :-). Put about 3 more db of BS in making a total of 5db and this baby can crank some bass out. Nice clean, tight, and fast. It's just absolutely amazing what can happen when you put 2 RS225s in the same box in a .5 configuration tuned to 21hz with a 4" x 14" flared port. To put cream on top of the pudding is the MDM-55 paired with a Seas 3/4" metal dome TAF/G tweeter. I'm astounded with the quality this pair provides. I'm in love folks. And this is only one of them LOL. I haven't even built the other one yet. I can just imagine 2 of these guys in stereo. I have a few more tweaks to do including felting the grills and maybe just maybe try to enhance what I think is about there. I hate messing with perfection, but sometimes you just have to try :-). Happily listening like that guy in the "Is it live, or is it Memorex" commercial getting blown away with a pair of speakers while sitting in a black chair. LOL. Cheers,
Paul
Just wait till you have a stereo pair! It changes everything.
And, for the record, two RS225's just straight-up would put out as much bass as the .5 arrangement you have. ;) Killer drivers, to be sure.
Keep havin fun!

Hehe, they sound sooooo goood. With two, o my god, they are going to rock. BTW, I got rid of that nasty dip in impedance. It's now around 3.5ohms. YES! I have a few more crossover tweaks after taking an indoor measurement. Then I will take it outside and do it right :-).

Be ready to cut back on that BSC a bit. When you have a pair of those speaker systems in one room, you may find that the BSC is a bit too overwhelming. If the room is very large and open though, it may not be a problem.

Yes Pete, after listening to the one over 4 hours yesterday, I've come to that conclustion too. With two it's going to rock. Maybe take out 2db. I've just about got the full 6 right now :-). Bass stomping heaven hehe. Still a lot longer than I anticipated. These hugh projects take a long to time to complete. Cheers, Paul.
