Please, no Bose-bashing for once. ;) A friend was given 2 pairs of 402's with their Bose EQ (and a pro-style graphic EQ). The 402's are from the Bose "Pro" line and are intended for PA use. My friend would like to use these with his receiver. The EQ has 1/4" jacks, and I know nothing about the impedance of these systems or their power requirements. Anyone knowledgeable with regards to Bose Pro stuff?

Looks like the whole front baffle is removeable on those. The best thing you could do.. and I mean this in all seriousness, would be to remove the front baffle and drivers and craft a new flat one. Use 2 of the Bose drivers and add a decent dome tweeter. Then build a passive crossover to work with the drivers and install it in the box.
When you hear the phrase "no highs, no lows, must be Bose" it's these speakers they're talking about. Also if this is going in a home theater you'll need a good sub to cover everything from 150hz down.

> The system is designed to route the signal from the source through the Eq to the amp. This could be acomplishied by using a Tape Loop and sone 1/4 to RCA adapters. That being said, These are speaker systems designed for small venue vocal group use, which they are great for! Using them for home listening will not be impressive. I know this board bashes the boys form the mountain (Bose) and they have a point. If you want accurate full range sound these are not a good choice.
Truth be told I would love to have those speakers for outdoor PA use that is Vocal/Background music. But I would not want them in my living room.

Do not consider my answer as a bose-bashing.... but seriously consider selling them on e-Bay...
Statisticly it has been proved that Bose has an extremely high reselling average price on e-Bay.
I personally have been looking for long time on e-Bay to try to get something for low price for re-selling... that would be an easy way to make money.... or reinvest in good speakers build...
Thake a look on some of the following......

The above Item are the II serie, but it looks like the old ones are better built...... look at the wood compared to the plastic cabinet.
I bet for those 4 plus the eq... you make around +$600... Once you got those money we can talk about what to do......
Second option sell the 16!!! drivers and the eq in separate auctions, for probably +$500 and then replace them with some TB.....
my $ 0.01 advice (or maybe $600)
