Greg
The baffle size will end up being very similar to the TL baffle, so it 'should' be OK.
As far as sealed or vented, since you have all that volume to burn, why not do a dual front port like Eric Y. designed for the original Triune?

whoaa. it's not every day i hear about another Eric Y. Better yet another Eric Y. that has built Curt's tritrix. hah. well. as for you Greg,
I vented mine and it sounds very nice. It doesn't go as low as other speakers I have built but it sounds flat for what it can do. What it means for me is I can cross to my sub a little lower and reduce localization. I hope it goes well

Thanks Guys.
I understand the enclosure and how to build it, however, where do you get the port or what is it built from? It does not appear from the drawings that the port was made from pieces of MDF.
THanks,
Greg

Greg,
The port shown on Curts drawing is a slot port made of MDF. You can also use round ports ove PVC, Cardboard, ABS.
Hope this helps

Nevermind - I figured out the slot/port.

The Slotted Triune seems like a reasonable design given the space I have available. I am also thinking of putting the TriTrix TL to the left and right anyway so it should be a good mix.
Question on the enclsure size though. Can I just use Eric's design for the TriTrix? The other TriTrix enclosures are smaller than the Triune with the exception of the TLs. Or in the end is it not going to make much difference?
Thanks,
Greg

I'd reduce the volume to no more than 22 liters, and change the port length to keep the 40 Hz tuning.
If you need help, I can model it tomorrow...

Hi Curt,
You said no larger than 22 liters which is fine. If I stick with the design you already have posted I can run with that and port it out the back. However, I assume that it may be beneficial to have it ported out the front?
My Baffle is going to be 39" wide by 7" tall however, I will use a "box within a box" to get to the overall 22 liter size. I need help with the porting. Is a slot or round better? Slotted looks fairly easy to accomplish using Eric's design. I have no idea how to tune to 40hz. The internal height of the box will be 5.5"
Any info would be beneficial.
Thanks,
Greg

Actually, I prefer to port out the back, as the extraneous noise emanating out the port will be delayed and dispersed into the reverberant room field. As long as you are not porting into a completely closed space, I would say the rear port would be preferable. Just leave the back of the 'bigger box' open, or feed the port tube through it to the outside world.
FWIW:
For 22 liters, the 2 front slot ports would be 5.5 tall x .5 wide x 10.5 long for 40 Hz, or 8 long for 45 Hz tunings. Since you will likely be running the mains and center small, the tuning is probably not much of an issue either way.

Curt,
Thank you very much.
One last question though. I can leave the big box open which allows me to rear vent the enclosure as you prefer. However, The box is going to be inside my entertainment center which does have a back on it which I am afraid will have the same effect that you refer to in your post. Does this mean the front port would be preferred or do I not need to worry about it? It is not going to be a REAL tight fit, but the CC will take up alot of the available space.
