It uses the W3-315D TB midbass, and the Audax TM025F1 tweeter. I have a parallel notch-filter to tame both drivers' breakup on the input to a classic SXO plus tweeter cap and series L-pad resistor. I'm waiting on a pair of coils, that's it! The boxes are refab from an old PC set I bought sans drivers. Baffle finish is torch-burned pine .5" ply, then Minwax gel Brazilian Rosewood, and a coat of polyurethane. The rest is pre-finished 1/2" MDF. 1ltr, Fb 107Hz. F3 is 114Hz, and Xmax is good until 88Hz with 8W input, and 95dB output capabilities. I had to port out the bottom, and use spikes for breathing room.

Thanks! It's a *shame* I can't hear them yet! Evidently, the SAF is low because the drivers overlap, or so the wife says. It doesn't matter, I saw the boxes, I wanted to try the 315D, and it was a good match. I won't be keeping them, but it's a cool simple little project. Remember, all I made were the baffles for this one. Aud(ax/alum)inum- simple enough. I thought about "Audmagnium", but I think "Audinum" is beter.

Looks very nice Wolf! Great job! Using those for surround or just bookshelf speakers?

An experiment more than anything. They'd probably make a good sub/sat system really. I bet they'd do well against a wall for a bookshelf setup too. I still haven't listened to them, because I'm waiting on an order to come to finish the XOvers. I'm not throwing a ton of money into the little beggars, as it is a budget design. I have one caveat though- the magnet on the 315 is HUGE enough, that the wire leads from the speaker terminals needs a rebate to go in the hole while attached. I know I can't attach them after mounting the driver, no stinkin' way!
Thanks for the kind words,
Wolf
