restor color code conveter chart

help, i have never been able to rember the values on the componet i at one time had a chart i used to call it my chetter dial well after a long time pased I. lost it and looked hi and low not able to find one . It had a dial for each color on the restor youd match up the colors and you had the value can you help me out iam to old to learn new tricks thank you ...susan

0 Black
1 Brown
2 Red
3 Orange
4 Yellow
5 Green
6 Blue
7 Violet
8 Gray
9 White

These colors alone are used for the first two bands on 5% and 10% tolerance resistors, which have only four bands total. They are used for the first three bands on 1% and 2% tolerance resistors, which have 5 bands.

The next-to-last band is the number of zeros to add after the first two or three; it can be any of the colors above or gold or silver. Gold means subtract a decimal place (multiply by .1); silver means subtract two decimal places (multiply by .01)

The last band is the tolerance. Silver is 10%, gold 5%, red 2% and brown 1%.

I grabbed the graphic below from Google. Note that on the top resistor, the tolerance band is gold, not brown.

At least that's how my engineering professor got us to remember it.

This way you remember Black is the first color.
