View Full Version : dayton in-wall speaker?
Which dayton (or other brand) in-wall speaker would work good for the rear surround back channels for HT use. My budget is about $100 for the pair.
Receiver is Integra 100w/ch DTR6.5.
Thanks

I have these in my dining room as a zone to provide background music. They sound as good as any of the mid priced ($200-$400) in-walls that I have owned or heard.

These have been recomended in the past as well, though I have never heard them.

If you built your own fronts, you could also buy these and build the surrounds to match the fronts.

I second the Dayton 8" kevlar 3-ways, 300-286's mentioned above. I have a pair in my workshop and they perform admirably. For an in-wall, they produce pretty impressive bass. I'm powering them with an old Onkyo Integra 80 wpc integrated amp and am happy with their performance.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Don. Wasn't sure if the Daytons were good.
I'm almost finished with building a DIY audax HT system. All the cabinets are built but not veneered yet. The xovers need to be wired up.
I need to place an order for some t-nuts and stuff to finish putting the system together so figure I'll order a pair of in-walls for the surround back channels.
Currently using a pair of DIY Vifa speakers I made a few years ago with DIY 12" titanic sub. Can't wait to get the audax system working.
HT is a Infocus IN72 projector with 110" screen.
