when reading description of use it states for laminate and pattern (?),which one for mdf ? one with 2 inch cutting length sounds good for two 3/4 sheets that have been glued together for front baffle !? donc

Not sure exactly what you're asking? I've always thought of a "pattern" bit as having the bearing guide at the top of the cutter instead of at the bottom of it. But that might be a misrepresentation on my part.

Both are good quality, but I've been using MLCS bits (and also the Katana's) for years and never had any problems. Plus, the customer service is very good with MLCS...free shipping in the lower 48 helps, too! I would think that the 2" cutting length for 1.5" material should be OK. AFA a top bearing or bottom bearing, that depends on what edge you're using to guide the bit.
