Idea for PE: "share this cart" ?

Since we all love to share a complete project, why not a feature that allows you to add all the stuff you need for it a PE online shopping cart, and then an ability to "share this cart" which saves that particular config in a database, and generates a link that you can copy and paste into a description of the project.

So you'd have your usual DIY steps, images, description, etc, then at the end "Click here to buy everything you need for this project from parts express." Clicking it brings up a new window that takes you to PE and adds all the neccessary items to the cart, and you can then continue shopping or checkout. Possible?

I know some of the more recent DIY shows have had some really sweet Dayton speaker projects that have piqued many peoples interest. I would certainly be all for a shop the cart on these HOT DIY projects that garner many interest from show goers and those who follow up on the top show speaker design winners. This would be very rewarding not only for PE, but the designers of the speaker projects as well. I strongly believe this type of information sharing along with the PE CART Program would be a big win-win situation.

I would like to have more than one cart at a time, one for each project that I am shopping for. Let's say I have everything picked out for a new 3-way, but I am not ready to buy. Then I have to order some wire for another thing. Currently I would lose everything in my cart. With multiple carts I could save that other order for later and just buy what I needed right then.

Sounds good, but I am sure it would be possible to do outside of the pe database. Maybe speakerbuilder.net could have some macros to fill a cart via a link.

Hi Max,
We added this feature to all of our project showcase projects some time ago (see link below). Where would you like to be able to create the list to be added? I am not sure if we could add that function to the Tech Talk board or not. I will check with the guys in MIS and get back with you.
