I got a chance to hear these at a high end retailer & was very impressed - especially the small foot print - but the cost !! . So I'm thinking a BG Neo 8 PDR, but need advice on the 4 1/2 woofs on each side. Also any advice on modeling crossovers for side-firing woofs would be appreciated.

Here's a thread where this speaker and making a clone using the Neo8 is being discussed.

Gee, this looks, well, exactly like the Sunfire driver....

Are those really the P2TC's? I ran across this in a mag. the other day and thought that they were.
Any insight to how these work speakers? You are listening to the 2 side firing drivers 90º off-axis and the X-Over to the P2TC seems way too low (1.2 kHz).
I am confused by this statement:
<i>"Ribbon tweeter with five feet of sound radiating area folded into less than six inches. Its geometry prevents distortion created by floor and ceiling bounce - and correctly disperses rear channel surround sound. "</i>
Even if you did fold 5-feet of ribbon into six inches, the result would be six iches of radiating area, correct?

That is what I arrived at. I also think that they sound pretty accurate! I don't know why people poo-poo them so much, as they do sound pretty good when implemented correctly.

I will also say this:
There are several versions of this planar, all made by Silver Flute (www.yindi.com), and are not the same as the HiVi offerings.
There is the PT2-A/B/C, which the first is the same as the YAG-20-1. The B is modified and "improved", with a "flatter FR" (still not exceptionally flat) and more power handling. The C was an attempt to make them lower distortion drivers, and did a *little*, but not a lot.
Silver Flute YAG-20-1/YAG-20-2; the PT2-A and a metal-faced version.
The old (formerly) Stryke/AE ribbons were the original PT2-A/YAG-20-1.
Here's the guts of one (I had a DOA):

These turned lots of heads at Dayton 08 this summer, and I think sound exceptional. They are *not* as good as my Scandivifias, but still decent nonetheless.
