jittering screens batman!!

I have an hdtv but whenever I use an hdmi cable connected to a dvd player the screen jitters a little.I have checked the connections and they are fine.Whenever I use component connections this is not a problem.I have tried two different dvd players made by different companies and they both have the same problem.Any ideas on what the problem might be?

there should be a selection, either in the TV or the DVD player.. maybe both, to tell the unit that you are using HDMI.
What TV, and what DVD?
