View Full Version : Need design advice for center.

I want to build a center that would match a friend's Paradigm Monitor 7 mains (he also has a 100W sub). Paradigm CC-290 would be interesting, but it would be much more fun to build something myself.

Can you suggest a design with a high SPL (CC-290 has 93 dB) and that would blend well with the mains? I'd prefer an already tested project with the crossover schematics. Is the cynosure a good choice even if the SPL is lower? (I plan to build one of these someday anyway) Or should I go with another MTM design?

I am open to all suggestions.

My SLA in the curved front variation has 95dB sensitivity, and wider dispersion than an MTM.

That is very cool Bill. I like the looks of that. I had thought about doing that with some B3N's, but never got around to thinking it through. I was going for a focused array...but as I said, never did get any farther then a rough sketch.

That looks very good! But I was looking for something easier to build and more conservative in design.

You might check out CurtC's Triune. Build the updated version as the DC130's are out of stock.
