Ravneeta just completed her wedding gift to her brother and his new bride. Perhaps you recognize the symbol. The speakers are a ported pair of Tangband W2-803SM (PE part # 264-805). A Sonic Impact T-Amp with I-Pod sits on the base, but not shown in the photo. As with all my students, Ravneeta has never before worked with any tools. The speakers sounded a bit choked at first, but after a day of play, they are very smooth. She is thrilled.

Those look great! I bet she's very proud of it. Nice job indeed.

Is there some symbology or mythology associated with the baffle shape? Color? Or did she just think it looks cool?
Certainly the original design of the week!
I'm also sure that she now knows the feeling of accomplishment we all feel when a project is complete.
Kudos and I hope they have a lifetime of accomplishments together. -CJB

Ravneeta's baffle artwork is a variation of the somewhat universal OM symbol. In Hindu culture it is the most important symbol of all.

As in meditation chants? It would be nice to play a chant on an IPOD with that system and chant with it. I used to chant for meditation in the 70's.
I agree they need some break-in, and I prefer a notch to being unfiltered. Decent bass for their size.
OOPS! Why am I talking about having these drivers!? You can't make me divulge my project though..... *whistling*.......

Can't we call it the OHM symbol? (Sorry, just a little geek humor) -CJB

For those that may not know, OM (or AUM) is the
primordial vibration (sound) of the universe.
Wikipedia:
More broadly, Aum is said to be the primordial sound that was present at the creation of the universe. It is said to be the original sound that contains all other sounds, all words, all languages and all mantras.

BTW, Ratch, incredible gift that you are giving your students. That so many are female, is an added positive energy to the world.
