Thanks to all who responsded to my earlier query about good earplugs for concerts. In case anyone is interested, I wasn't able to find a local dealer for the Etymotic plugs and didn't have enough time before the concert for online ordering. However, I did find that Etymotic makes a similar line for Hearos,

and was able to pick those up at a local Guitar Center for about $15/pair.

I took the family to a Blue Man Group concert on Friday. It wasn't quite as loud as I thought it might be, but was still loud enough that we were glad to have the plugs.

Glad to HEAR you got 'em. How did the show sound to you with the plugs in? Muffled? Or just less loud?

It sounded pretty good. I think they still cut the highs a bit more than the lows, but the sound seemed more balanced than when I tried using standard earplugs (at a different concert). I will use them again.
