Well since this is a speaker building forum and such, I thought I would post up some audo related stuff. I have been practicing my drums some and made some new recordings or dubs. So give a listen and post a comment.

At first listen it just sounds like we're listening to a pre-recorded song, but (for those who can't tell) you're actually doing a great job playing along with the drums. This is a good way to learn keeping time as well as getting used to what role drums play in a complete song.

It's kinda hard to hear exactly what parts you are playing vs. the original recording, but that means you're keeping with the song pretty well. I can pick out a few of the fills that you did which are different than the original and they sound pretty good. What sort of setup do you have to record your drums?

IMHO, you are a very good to excellent drummer. That said, I think that at times you tried to do too much, particularly with the high hat in the first song, but in some other fills as well. None of my niggling little complaints would be noticeable in a live performance setting, though, and you're WAY better on drums than I could ever hope to be on guitar, so Kudos!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the support.

I use just 2 mics, one over head, and one next to-below the snare to capture my snare and hats.

Thanks for lsitening though, glad to hear you think im getting somewhere.

Wow...no kick drum mic? It sounds pretty good.

In terms of the mix: The hi-hat sounds a bit too aggressive for me, and the snare not loud enough...I'd mic the snare from on top and closer, just let the hi-hat bleed through the snare mic and the overheads. And use stereo overheads. Partly a matter of taste though.

Thanks, trust me, if I could afford a new mixer board and more mics I would be far above what im capable of now. But till then this is what I got, and if im gonna do any upgrade im gonna get a new kit, since mine is on it's last legs.
