Hey folks. It's closing in on two weeks until InDIYana happens. I'm happy to say it's looking like this year will eclipse last year's success quite easily. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot of new faces this year which is pretty exciting. I have also secured shoot-out/door prizes from six different companies. They would be PE (of course), Madisound, Solen, Meniscus Audio, Zalytron and Eminence. I still don't have the full list of prizes made up so just come and see for yourself.
I've decided to expand the competition classes and even the competition somewhat. The budget class remains the same; projects that will cost less than $150. Then we have the changes. The next level up runs from $150.01 to $300, then $300.01-$600. The big buck class is $600+. This is similar to the Iowa classifications and it only seems fair to do it this way.
The next thing I want to throw out for your consideration is about having some kind of yard sale for people wanting to sell some excess gear. I'm all for it so if you have something you're thinking about selling bring it along if you can. I'll have a table set up for this stuff but I do ask that anyone selling have their names on their stuff to eliminate confusion. I accept no responsibility for lost or damaged goods, that's up to the participating parties.
Bring your speakers and pit them against the other projects and see how you do. I'll update the info page on my site as soon as I can but I just now got confirmation that all should be well in serverland by this weekend. See ya in a fortnight or so!

Just so I'm clear on this. The project costs are based on drivers and crossover for both speakers, but not cabinet costs, is that correct?

Saying this in my best Ed McMahon voice, Yes! You are correct!

Have you figured out how we're going to listen to my center channel?

With ear tied behind our backs ;). Seriously tho, what about just sending a mono signal to it? I need to check my settings but I'm pretty sure I can just knock the signal down to mono and put the spurs to 'er. Or I can bring along my Yamaha receiver and we can just have a volunteered pair of speakers for mains and run your CC with those. I have no shortage of DVD's but if you have some that you like in particular bring them along. We'll figure this out one way or another.

Yeah. Either way. I don't want to make it too complicated, but if there is an obvious way that I'm not thinking of...

Shawn,
As we discussed, I can bring my little Emotiva BPA-1, if you like, and it can be set to mono for sure.

I was going to drop you a line to that effect. Thanks a bunch.
