Listening to Steely Dan's Two Against Nature - DTS 5.1 DVD and watching the start of todays races in Semihamoo Bay. Bottom of the photo is the Audax WMTW CC.
Not much wind out there, but interestingly enough those boats are actually heading east, directly along the U.S./Canadian border. Birch Point WA is on the left and the San Juan Islands are in the distance.
Kinda cool seeing the big boats start first, then the two other smaller classes behind them. About 45 participants overall are out there.
Usually I'm in the race, but took a pass for this year. Just enjoying a little music while doing my taxes.

I'm listening to California Project by Papa Doo Run Run that someone suggested. Whoa! I'll never look down on cover bands again. The Telarc disc is awesome.

Funny that I was viewing that very disk this morning attempting to explain Steely Dan lyrics to my gf. Great video - terrific music.

Todd and Mike,Thanks for the positive comments.
I'm finding that 5.1 DVD audio, expecially DTS is hugely enjoyable.
On Donald Fagen's Kamakiriad DVD, the "Trans-Island Skyway" track is one of my favorites. It's soundstage is literally all around the room. Tons of sound everywhere - but, well thought out. Even the rear speakers get a good workout on this track. Love it!!
Playing well-engineered recordings like this in DTS 5.1 reminds me how much I appreciate the quality of Jon Marsh's Modula MT design.

Loves me some William Burroughs' namesake, but Dan ain't sailing music, Jimmy Buffett is.

"Loves me some William Burroughs' namesake, but Dan ain't sailing music, Jimmy Buffett is.
Sheesh.....10 minutes after I took the photo, it started raining....hardly "Buffett" weather.
Now, Fagen and Becker's music accompanied us while sailing across the Mediterranean (with Buffett as the opening act every "happy hour") a couple of years ago.
Might be heresy to say this, but Buffett's music isn't so much "sailing music", as it is "drinkin' music" for when the hook's down, lines are secure and the bar's open!
Yeah, the Steely Dan - Naked Lunch connection...
Love Buffett too, but so far I seem to have successfully avoided the "Tommy Bahama" look.
This photo was taken with the boat on a beam reach, wind @12 knots (in Boundary Pass, which has a hell of a lot of BIG ship traffic - note my water "beverage") and...Dire Straits playing...doesn't get better than this!
