My friend has a JBL SUB160 that came in a 7.1 speaker system. All of a sudden, it would not exit standby. Suprisingly, this happenned after not being used for a few weeks. We took the amp and sub out to investigate. The sub is showing 3.6 ohms across the voicecoil, so I know the voicecoil isn't shorted. We also took out the amp and found some sections of the circuit board that were brown from what looked like being overheated. Is this amp worth having fixed, or should we look at replacing it? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
