Has anyone else noticed that with the 30-40% price increase on most RS series drivers that the RS subwoofer pricing has barely been affected? In fact, the RS390s haven't budged at all. Any ideas?

Ive been out of the loop for a couple of years but it sure seems like everything at PE has gone up in price significantly.

When did this price increase that you're talking about happen?

It happened over the last year or so. As for the reason, I don't know. Maybe there is more profit margin on the subs? They probably sell a lot more RS180's than 390HF's. I hope the RS100's go on sale soon (wink wink):D

I've been hoping and looking for a sale on the 15" RS subs for over a year now but no-go. I've seen the 12" and smaller on sale several times (I think the most recent flyer has them on sale). I picked up my first HO 15" for less than $100 bucks on the PE ebay auction (actually $80 plus about $15 for shipping). The unit had a teeny tiny nick on the magnet and I'm guessing that's why it was put on the auction. I like deals and usually always wait for them, but I'm wondering if I'll ever see another sale on the 15s, or find one on ebay for so cheap.

In the last couple of Voice Coil magazines, (a loudspeaker industry magazine) there have been a series of articles about the rising costs of Asian manufactured goods. I think we can all rest assured that it's hitting popular PE product lines such as the RS woofers and TB drivers. Over at Mad, do you guys remember when the Silver Flute W14 woofer was only $14?
The days of cheap stuff from China are over. Still, they have a long way to go to catch up to $200 woofers and tweeters from Denmark.
Now I can't explain the cheapness of the subs myself. Maybe the subs come from a different factory. Several other factors may come into play such as batch order size. Buy now before the price goes up.
