Anyone know of an equalizer that accepts optical in / out? It seems (according to optical cable marketing) this would be the correct way to keep all info the same from the source to the amp to the speakers.
Or even the digital coax connection. Is this as good as optical?
Yup. The Behinger Ultracurve DEQ2496. (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=248-661)XLR and optical in and out!

Yes. They're interchangle; one just happens to use light for the signal and the other, copper. The best thing about that is that you KNOW you won't be transmitting a ground loop with a toslink cable. ;-)
