I'm selling my dayton frankenstien sub. It's A dayton MK3 motor and 15" basket, with all of the soft parts from FI car audio.
I bought the original dayton at the tent sale like 3 years ago(maybe 2 idk). It had a huge hole in the cone, hence the $50 price tag. So i bought it, It took me FOREVER to find a vc that would fit, i bought so many 2.5's it wasnt funny. lol
But i finally got one, dual 4 ohm. much beefier than the original. I put multiple spiders on it(3 i think, i can't remember) so the sub has a pretty stiff suspension. The cone is papr, slighty thicker than the orginal, with a higher profile surround. Its also foam.
It isn't really a home theatre sub, by any means, more of a car audio sub now. I actually took it to a compition, with a dual ixa100 amp, and did 137.4@51 hertz, in a 4 cubic ft enclosure tuned to 45 hertz(yea i know thats high, i did it for the comp). The amp wasnt getting that good of voltage but i was happy with the score. plus it sounds really loud.
It's in great condition, I didnt use it too much, considering i have 2 MK3's. When i reconed it i used 2 part epoxy, which seems to be holding up fine. The back of the magnet was painted silver, but the paint kinda got scraped up. it looks great from the front though
I'll post t/s specs here in the next couple days, i have a wt3. I would like $120+ shipping, im located in central kentucky. I accept paypal and usps money orders. paypal prefered but its all good. btw the atf is my initials, its vinal and probobly wouldnt be hard to peel off.
btw how do i got about doing a common t/s measuring for this, do i just read one coil or both in parellel or series or what?
thanks for looking! tell me if your interested or want to work on the price.
