I have a workout room in my basement... and although I'm pretty good at using it on a fairly regular basis, I've still had issues staying as motivated as I'd like to... I think we can all relate.

So I decided to build a nice music-listening system down there, as a way to help motivate myself to work out more...

And it works... not only do I have increased motivation to work out, but I have a productive excuse to just listen to music... which I truly believe is good for the soul.

This is kind of a silly and pointless thread, but I'm also quite enthusiastic about the point I'm making here: exercise equipment and a nice stereo make a great combination... it's simultaneous therapy for the body and mind... I highly recommend it.

Hi, Lunch. Listening to music is a "productive excuse". Me thinks.
I shall leave the trim bod and sweating to you providing you leave the beergut and bad eating habbits to me;)

lol... sorry, but I'm gonna have to share the bad eating habits with ya there... you can't have them all to yourself

I'm not suggesting that listening to music is not a productive activity... it certainly is... but sometimes it's tough to carve out the time to do so

nor am I suggesting that people need to work out...

I'm just sayin' that if you're seeking increased increased motivation to work out, putting together a nice system helps...

Oh yeah. There's nothing quite like Richard Simmons in high fidelity.

I agree with you, Lunch. And I see your point. A big part of the masses would agree that listening to music is unproductive. They buy crappy Bose and watch 4hrs a day, 120hrs a month, 1,140hrs a year and 85,500hrs (10 straight years) of TV by the time they are 75:eek:

Good call - In my great room just to the right of the sweet spot I have a recumbent stationary bike and last night put in 6 miles at about 18 per while Sigur Ros built a nice head of steam. Don't know how I would get motivated to go stare at myself in one of those mirrored gyms while cranking out some mild adrenals.

Just curious, is the the TriTrix tower or something else?

That statement is so right, yet so wrong at the same time, amazing.
