Both drivers in the BAMTM are superior performers compared to those in the Tritrix, most noticeably the tweeter. The BAMTM has a lower distortion profile across the spectrum.

Also, the woofers in the BAMTM are bigger and have a greater x-max, which should improve low bass and maximum output.
That said, the TriTrix is cheaper and has gotten a lot of very positive feedback.

I've built and listened to both. The BAMTM has a better tweeter, and I can hear more detail. The Tritrix had very good imaging in my setup, and really sounded nice. Also, note that the BAMTM is a 4 ohm speaker, and the Tritrix is 8 ohm. I prefer the BAMTM, but at the current deal price, Tritrix is a steal for a very nice speaker.

hmm.. witch one would sound better with my Denon-3805 Receiver w/ a DIY. 12" infinity kappa VQ(future project)maybe:)
I should qualify this. I have a BAMTM center channel, and Schumakublin mains. The Schumakubins have same drivers as BAMTM, Seas 27TBFC/G tweeter and four DA175s in a 2.5 layout. Same baffle width, similar tweeter network, I assume similar sound. I could be wrong. check out the Schumakubins, "only a little more" than BAMTM.

thanks djg :) what are you using for rears in your setup? i love the sleek look of the DA175 driver. I am interested in the Schumakubins build. can sombody link me the plans. or do u have to pay for them?
Unfortunately, the Schumakubin design is a commercial venture, thirty bucks for plans. i couldn't really send you mine. Search here for "schumakubins" and you'll find the info you seek and pics.
I am using a strange omni design for rears, with 8 inch Seas poly woofers, Dayton ND28 tweeters and Dayton horns in a coaxial upfiring sonotube. Not for everyone, perfect for me due to a small listening area.

Can you post pics of those omnis? I'm intrigued by your description.

Sonotube omni. Knocked the phase plug out of the Seas poly 8 inch woofer on sale at madisound. Made a pvc part to hold tweeter, modified an 8 inch Dayton horn lens, glued it all together. Stuffed pipe with Walmart poly. Not my design, HTguide member notorious ak did this. He used copper pipe where I used pvc. As with all my projects, "sounds great". Good surround effect even shoved back in the corner of my modest living room.

Those are inventive, and I bet they do sound quite good.

Nice of you to say so, thanks.

I pulled this thread out because I'm planning my first real build and was wondering the same thing, is the BAMTM $140 better than the TRITRIX? If I plan to use these as mains in a two channel system with a sub (if needed), what's the better choice? Of course, cost is a consideration.
Another newbie question, if I'm using high level line feeds for my powered sub, do I need to worry about mixed impedence with the 4 ohm BAMTM's? Thanks!
