I'm back asking silly questions again ... two this time
1. Does the Bash 300 have a subsonic filter? If so is it mod-able?
2. Which of these two subwoofers is better for my application paired with the Bash 300.
The Datyon Classic 15" (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-470) or the Dayton Reference 12" (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-464)
The Classic will cost me $130 CAD and the Reference will cost $240 CAD. The sub will be used 70% HT 30% Music. Box size is not an issue. Room is the living room/kitchen in a mobile home appx 16' x 25' with "cathedral" ceilings. The price has some weight but I'm willing to spend the extra bucks if it is worth it.
Thanks a ton,
Tyler

if box size is not an issue get a 15 inch dayton reference. the 15 inch rss390hf will get you all the ht bass you need. it cost more but you wont need to worry about upgrading it.

1. Yes and Yes. You can model this boost in Jeff B.'s WOofer box and Circuit Designer. Input a 17hz filter where it says optional second order adjustable high pass filter - stage one. (FC=17, q = 1)
2. I like the reference 12" better. I would love to use the 15", but the boxes get too big.

Sorry when i said mod-able i meant, can i modify the frequency? I assume from you're respons the default frequency is 17hz? Thanks

Never thought about that, thanks!
Edit: Houston we have a problem. When i go to the 15" shipping goes through the roof because the package is to large for canada Post. Up to $340. Still worth it?? And Would the Bash 300 do it justice?

Yes it is modable, with a soldering iron and a few capacitors.

Okay thanks to Brian i have figured out my shipping dilema. Now will the bash 300 do this thing justice or will i have to upgrade my plate amp as well?

I would start with the Bash 300. The sub might be able to withstand more power but 300 watts can be more than you think.

Brian-
Yo mean a few "resistors". The HP is a simple "Pi-filter".
Frost_51-
Most of the time this is a simple modification. On the BASH amps, I find that it is not so much. I tried to find them on my 500W, and they are very hard to access.
I would not recommend trying to modify the BASH amps' infrasonic filter structure, because you can't touch them without some dexterity, and possibly removal of other parts or covers.

Frost, that kind of CAD money would also get you into an SDX15 (http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=SDX15). It did pretty well in a relatively small 100l sealed configuration in Illka's torture tests (http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/subwoofer-tests/8158-diy-css-sdx15-sealed-100l-new.html). Obviously, it can handle quite a bit more than 300 watts, but its output with 300 watts is pretty comparable to most other 15" drivers, IIRC. IOW, it's displacement per watt is pretty close the RS390s, DVC15, Tempest-X, etc, but it has quite a bit more excursion potential than the DVC15/RS390 if you've got the power.
Mach5Audio is another CAD based driver company that gets good feedback.
