Can anyone explain exactly how the the series capacitor or Inductor works in a 2nd order crossover Please. I know it is a verybasic question :)

cheers

In a lowpass the inductor is series and the capcitor is paralell. Both inductor /capcitor increases resistance proportional to the frequency.

In this case the inductor increases resitance for higher frequencies. The shunt path/paralell capcitor works in reverse. This allows for high frequencies to follow a path of least resistance back to ground.

Each filter that thesignal passes through rotates the phase 90 degrees.
