I found this Nakamichi AV-500 in a local pawn shop on the "as is" table for $10.00. They would not let me borrow a cd or dvd player to test, so the best I could do was check the tuner, without an antennae. There was a Coby bookshelf system on the same table, so I hooked up the sewing thread speaker cable to the Nak - got nothing. I was about to think that "as is" was probably not worth it. Then I noticed the A/B speaker selector. I turned the volume all the way down, changed the selector and eased up the volume, and you guessed it. I quickly paid my $10. I have not hooked up the 5.1 set up yet, but Diana Krall sounds fabulous on my BAMTM's in stereo. Anybody have any ideas on specs - Naks site seems to not have any info on older units?

I think so, too. I am trying to find a free manual. I don't know if I can set it up for 2.1 or adjust the subwoofer crossover without the remote. The reviews are right - very few buttons on the front.
