Perhaps someone could kindly suggest the best way to connect a Dayton Audio SA70 powered subwoofer to my system if I have a 2nd set of outputs on my preamplfier.
My main loudspeakers start to roll-off at about 60 hz and I was wondering if I could run them full-range from my main power amplifier and have the subwoofer handle the bass to 60 hz.
Could someone tell me how best to connect the Dayton SA70?

Thank you.

Thanks for the replies.
The preamplifier is a Mapletree Audio 4A SE. There are two pairs of preamplifier outputs.

nice looking tube preamp. it says that it has parallel outputs. so the same full range signal will go to the sub and to the front mains. use the subs crossover it should be fine.

is this the preamp?

Use the stereo RCA inputs on the sub amp as mentioned and then set the subwoofer low pass filter to blend with your main speakers. You may find that you have to turn the LPF to the minimum value (40Hz) based on my experience/measurements of that amp in a subwoofer design (see the text related to the plot below at this link... http://www.rjbaudio.com/Cerberus/cerberus.html )

Just as a quick summary, the plot below shows how the range of the low pass crossover knob from one extreme to the other and you'll see that even with the lowest crossover frequency ("dark red trace", 40 Hz according to the amp), the response rolls off at a higher frequency than indicated by the amp but keep in mind that my subwoofer has a slightly rising natural response above 80 Hz.

That is indeed the pre-amp philiparcario.
The Ultra 4A SE is a great sounding, reasonably priced tube product that allows users to switch between 6SN7 and 12SN7 tubes by means of a switch.

Thanks very much romanbednarek! The idea of using a LPF at 40 hz sounds great, but I see that the photo on the PE website shows 60hz as the lowest setting possible. One of the reviews below the photo suggested that the photo was inaccurate and that 40 hz was indeed the lowest setting possible so that sounds perfect.
Thanks again everyone,

Bill
