I have two harbinger hx121m 12" stage monitors, ]http://www.guitarcenter.com/Harbinger-HX121M-12--Stage-Monitor-103954012-i1172619.gc[/URL]
The compression drivers, or horns i guess, blew on both and i want a better replacement so they won't blow again. Any good suggestions??

Pull one of the blown drivers and give us some info off the back so we can determine what a compatible replacement MIGHT be.

It appears that a standard 1-3/8" thread 1" driver will fit, there are literally dozens to choose from. But the reason you blew yours was probably because of the 2nd order highpass filter used in these inexpensive--OK, cheap--speakers. In pro-sound the minimum acceptable filter slope for HF drivers is 3rd order, with 4th order being preferred.

+1
Consider rebuilding the x-over to meet the slope Bill Suggests. If you can give us the cap value of the network already in the box, it'll be pretty easy to determine the XO frequency . . Likely the woofer is just running full range, so POSSIBLY making the XO frequency a bit higher could help protect the horn driver as well . . that, however, creates another problem with dispersion.
A pic of the blown compression driver would still be nice! :)

I believe that this is a picture of that crossover:
http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Harbinger-HX121M-12-Inch-Stage-Monitor-?sku=600075
You might be able to read something of the expanded view.
1 of the coils looks like a 1.2 Mh.
There are 3 caps so some compensation is happening there too.
3 resistors, so 2 for tweeter attenuation and 1 with the blue cap for some compensation.
The two crossover caps look like 2 and 4 uf.
I can't figure it out.

That pic shows a 2nd order LP/3rd order HP with fixed value LPad and a protection lamp, which is a pretty good crossover. Assuming that's what's actually in the box it's possible that the protect lamps are burned out.
