Can anyone highlight what differences, if any , might be between these 2 popular designs ? Not sure if anyone forumites might have had a chance to listen to the 2 side by side for any period of time.
I'm aware the Zaph Bargain MTM is sealed and the K is ported , and both have different drivers . I added up the difference in cost and it is not too much , only around $30 more for the Dr. K as I have most of the crossover parts and foam already.
The Zaph design with the DA-175 has a simpler crossover and Roman kindly put up several crossover variations for the Dr. K MTM at his web site to contrast and compare . Thanks Roman !
The Zaph is 88 spl sensitivity but I can't quite find sensitivity for the Dr. K MTM or it's other incarnations , it may be very similar.
I'm thinking of going the PE built cabinet route as opposed to building with all the extra investment and fun in that direction.
I don't have room for a sub and only listen to 2 channel music .
Thanks

The dual RS180 will have more raw SPL before compression than the Dual DA175 design. The DA175 can be built with vented/TL enclosures for very deep extension, into the low 30s.

You can almost build the Schumakubins (http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/do-it-yourself-diy-topics/schumakubins) for the price of the RS180 MTM. Quad DA175 and RS28 tweeter.
