Would like some input on a HTPC case. I have checked some out but would like to hear what some here might be using. This will mainly be for Blu-Ray but will be also able play music if need be. I have been leaning towards the Silverstone models ?

Don't know what you're looking to get out of one, but I bought this one for my wife's desktop simply because it was the only one I could find that looks like furniture rather than a gaudy metal box, (or robot in the case of macs.)

No extras like LCD or remote are included, but it is quite nice looking and spacious. I've had to point it out to more than one person twice, since they didn't realize what I was talking about when I mentioned my wife's new PC tower.

"Where?"
Right there .
"Oh, I thought that was a radio."

It's just what I was looking for.

I thought that might be the situation, but wanted to point it out since AFAK this is the only one like it on the market.

I thought the Silverstone cases appeared to offer good value when I was researching them. There were a lot of complaints about the displays, but you have to spend a lot more to get a case with a nicer one though, and who knows what you get into when you try to put together a case/ display/ remote combo yourself?

I'd be interested in hearing how you feel about whichever one you get.

Good luck,

Zach

I have the older version of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129054

It's a well build, fairly quiet, and has good ventilation.

I am quite pleased with the Lian-Li mid-tower I have. If the look works for you, these should be well made and functional.

I use this one and it is really nice, although I replaced the stock fans with quiter ones (they were about as loud as my PS3):

I used the black version and it closely matches the finish of my Onkyo reciever.

Nice choices here, I really like the Antec case. I wanted to stay away from a micro atx board....Thank You all I'm getting dialed in with your help.

After doing further research, I have found that the MB in my current computer HP a1540n has a micro atx board inside  So i may just gut this thing as it has everything i will need.

So at this point it looks like the Antec case would be right up my alley....Maybe the wife will let me use her computer while mine is down ?

One last suggestion,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129034&cm_re=antec_case-_-11-129-034-_-Product

I just used this case for an HTPC in my bedroom. There's enough room for a large heat-pipe style heat sink, and it works with no fan on the CPU heat sink, just the two 120 mm fans in the case, set to their minimum speed (Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz, CPU runs @ about 90°F).

With a notebook drive and BlueRay reader, it plays BR movies quite well. Surprisingly, the stereo line outputs are providing quiet, clean audio for my Yamaha receiver.

I can't hear it at all from 6' away in a silent room.

The case is bigger than normal, you need 17 1/2" width and 17 1/2" depth available. Mine came silver, but was very easy to paint black.

I have this one, looks like a lot of my HT equipment:

really nice if you need a decent amount of space, looks really clean when you put the bezel on the BluRay player/drive. The only issue I had with it was when putting in my rather large graphics card, it took out one of the hard drive bays, but even with that I still had room for 4 HDDs and the 5.25" BluRay. Decent cooling too if you get fans for all the holes they have for them.

+1 on Justin's recommendation for the Silverstone LC10. It's well built, houses a standard ATX board, has plenty of room, and uses a standard PSU.

Aside from some of the nicer Silverstones and some very expensive Zalmans Lian Li is really in a class of their own, defiantly a step above the Antec in terms of looks and quality.
