I think I will get the APA150 to run the two Aura Pro shakers I bought. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=300-812&ctab=1#Tabs
I think I like this alternative better than getting the SA240, since this unit appears to be very flexible in how it is connected and has similar power when bridged. Anybody have this unit and have any comments on the quality, fan noise, power, etc., of the APA150?
Also what would be the best way to hook the two shakers?
1. I could run each of the 4 ohm shakers on its own 75 watt channel.
2. Bridge to mono and put shakers in series to get an 8 ohm load??? (Would that hook up be: amp + to 1st shaker + 1st shaker - to 2nd shaker + and 2nd shaker - to amp -?)
3. Bridge to mono and parallel the shakers. (Does this = a 4 ohm load or does it drop to 2 ohms?)
Thanks

The APA150 amp is a decent amp and the fan won't come on unless you are absolutely killing it.
I would probably just run it one shaker to each channel myself, unless it's a long cable run.
You are right on option # 2, connect positive from amp to pos of shaker #1, then neg of shaker #1 to pos of shaker #2 and neg of shaker #2 to neg of amp. If it's a long run from amp to shakers, this is a good choice because you really only need one speaker cable from amp to drivers (assumng they are both in close proximity.)
Option #3 is probably no good... two 4 ohm drivers connected parallel will be a two ohm load to the amp, and may cause problems, although the amp is really sturdy!

Thanks for the info. I also favored running one shaker on each channel.
Not sturdy enough to see a 1 ohm load. As you bridge to a 4 ohm load, the amp has to have 2 ohm stable channels, because it sees the load as paralleled.

I now have everything ready to go for my shakers. I am hooking up at follows:
-RCA splitter from Sub out on HK340 AVR - 1 to Sub and 1 to L (or R) on Dayton APA150 amp line level in.
-Speaker out L to one shaker and Speaker R out to other shaker. (4 Ohm load)
-APA150 set to Mono. Low pass set to 150??
-Dayton APA150 Volumn set to 90% since HK 340 is being used as PreAmp for Sub out.
Is this the best way to connect to AVR? Started to use one of the other preamp outs, but I have them set to small and crossed at 80 so I assumed there would be no signal sent from the pre-outs below the 80.
I also assumed I could adjust the gain to the sub out in the HK and vary the volume on the sub and APA150/shakers to balance the amount of "shake".
Thanks
Take it off mono and your LFE out should already have a crossover filter applied, so there should be no need to use the filter on the APA unless you want to cross them even lower.

If I run mono do I need to split the sub out of the HK again so I can put a signal into both L and R line level inputs on the APA150?
I wondered about LFE. On my HK 340 my choices were L/R, Center, Surround and back Surround. Not sure how this relates. My current setup is:
* S P E A K E R X - O V E R *
L E F T / R I G H T : 80 H Z
C E N T E R : 80 H Z
S U R R O U N D : 80 H Z
S U R R B A C K : 80 H Z
L F E : L E F T / R I G H T
B A S S M G R : G L O B A L
B A C K T O M A N U A L S E T U P
Thanks
