Yet Another Reduction Project.

Kappa Perfect 6.1 woofers, those nice little Atlantic Technology neo tweets from the buyout page. Cabinets were the first ones I built for the Datum with the woofer opening slightly enlarged.

They sound very nice for what I have into them. I had enough different crossover components sitting around to make a decent network for them. The woofer rolls off at about 2.2k and the tweeter comes in at about 2.7k. They sum pretty flat, and the acoustic crossover is about 2.3k.

So four more drivers and nine more crossover component off the shelf and installed into cabinets. That leaves me 12 midwoofers, five subwoofers, five plate amps, ten tweeters, four mids, and just a handful of crossover components.

Tomorrow I am going to throw together another set of small cabinets for one more project. Not going to be finished at all. Realistic 6.5" and Peerless cone tweeter.

Do you like them sound quality wise more than the datums? I was thinking they looked fairly nice for a lowcost buyout project. Nevermind saw they have a new home nicely done.

Take it easy

They actually sound pretty good. They are just buttugly. I think they are going to end up in the office, or maybe my wifes desk at her work.

Those have got to be the ugliest speakers I have seen.

Nice work :D

I have a few drivers laying around that need projects like this.

They are ugly, but they sound strangely compelling. They are resting in the garage now and hopefully in a few weeks will have a nice coat of MDF dust to knock the ugly back a bit.
