...measured buyouts for us :)
Looks good, (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-071&scqty=5) specially for the price...
Guess I will just have to buy that dam measurement rig.
I knew that was an Audax before I even read the description. MAX Fidelity, huh? I hope we get some of the older large-VC bits in for buyout!!!
Looks good, Johnny!

With a name like MAX Fidelity, does it even need measuring ;)

i like the cast-look. are you thinking mtm? or three-way?

If you pair that with a small form factor neo tweeter than can reach down to about 2.5 kHz, you should be able to make a very nice budget HT setup or desktop monitor.

I was thinking along the lines of a 5.1 for my parents using five of these, five of the Vifa OX tweets and crossing over in the 2500-2800 range.

Small 2-way 5.1 set up for my parents. Build them a less "dramatic" looking version of my Datum sub.

How about the BC25SC06-04? That is a small format tweeter, is horn loaded so acoustic offsets will not be as much of an issue and offers a reasonably low Fs. Price is also attractive.

I'm gonna snag a few of those since I have a couple friends wanting cheap builds. I'll probably just do small MT's with some Tang Band tweeters I've had for awhile.
That new Peerless India waveguide/tweeter buyout combo looks fun to play with too.

That sounds like a great choice - except they seem to be out of stock. You can do essentially the same thing with the OX20, but it will require making your own chamfer or roundover (zaph's site has measurement data for both).

OX is 2x the price of the BCS and almost 4x the price of the woofer:eek: Not gonna happen for this possible project.

Bought 4 of these Saturday and did some quick measurements.

WT3 free air impedance (http://www.home.fuse.net/mbunte/MAX_Fidelity/MAX_Fid-WT3.gif)
Doesn't look like much to complain about there, especially for under $7.00.

Well, I got five on the way, so to top out my $100 tog et free shipping I remembered some cables, a mixer, a microphone...
Guess I'll be measuring soon.
They look very nice for the money, and shouldn't have any problems crossing over in the 2.5-3k range.

Mark, do you mind to do WT3 sweep on a different driver for consistency? Also a distortion plot would be great :)

Wow, look nice for only 6.50 per driver!
How about pairing them up with the Vifa DQ25SC16 crossed somewhere in the 2750-3000 range?
That 4 Ohm impedance does make the mtm idea more difficult.
So how much fidelity IS the MAX amount of fidelity, anyway?

I have a pair of the HP130ZO and a pair of the AP130ZO if anyone prefers the Aerogel cones over the paper. $5.00 each :)
Please excuse the thread hi-jack.

Measured the other 3 drivers tonight. It's about 10 degrees colder in the house than it was when I measured #1 Sunday. Also, drove #1 for about an hour with music. The other three I just stretched the suspension and measured. None are really broken-in.

Those are good looking response curves. How far were the enclosures from adjacent walls?

7ft to side wall, 4ft from back wall.
Forgot to note on chart that I did not apply any smoothing to the curves.
Thanks . I 'm in the process of setting up my own measuring rig. I will be using a M-Audio Fast Track MKII USB sound card with the Dayton mic. With a usb sound card I can use my laptop or any other computer I chose. What type of setup are you using? I forgot when measuring speakers in a box baffle step compensation isn't necessary. Is it better to measure speakers in their boxes rather then on an infinite baffle?

I think their specs are very consistent, thanks Mark :)
