I used bassbox6 to help me design this box, the bottom is almost 3in thick solid Poplar. approximately 3.43 cubic feet internal dimensions, 20x18x24inches. for details)!:http://lumberjocks.com/projects/33600
I took a break from posting my projects because of so much frustration with my finishes, I’m gonna break down and buy some finishing dvd’s and stop being in such a rush. This a 15in Dayton reference sub purchased from parts-express. The interior of the box is measured to a precise 3.45 cubic feet and port tuned to 23hertz. This box is made from Poplar although I wished i could have sprung for a heavier more dense wood type. The bottom is almost 3inches thick 24×20 and the sides are 13/16in.
Although I’am very pleased with the whole house shaking abilities of this sub I made a critical mistake during final glue-up, the speaker opening hole is supposed to be offset to the front not next to the plate amp. pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/51302337@N03/
