Hi Diru :p
You got me. I played with PT for years. This time B&G...NE08/8 ohm version.
Thanks,
Iggy
Iggy-
You're using tweeters with the Neo8, right? The Neo8 is more of a mid, and IMO requires a tweeter to further its range.

Hi Wolf...J. Lee :)
Thanks for replied. Yes I will use Ne08, but 8 ohm version and specific custom design for line arrays.

I have heard the Neo8 PDR version used as a widebander mid-hi driver to good effect. It sounded very much like the MartinLogans that I have heard, with a slight easing-off at the top end that the OP might find pleasing without supertweeters.

Neo8 I use for my line arrays is the same version LS9 line arrays.
Thanks,
Iggy

OK, I hear ya! I am just interested in this design and can't find too many build threads. I was looking at these Peerless 835004 SDS 6-1/2" buyouts and at the price and the way they would stack because of the frame I got interested. I figure 8 of those might be great with the right tweeter. I would love a ribbbon but cannot justify the expense for a first time build of a design
that I know nothing about. I have the BMF palns and saw those but I am looking for something a bit more "robust"

10/10. Those look great! Nothing comes close to arrays for the wow factor.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts on these compared to your last pair.

Thanks! Christ;)
My friend got my last pair. Those HIVI M4N and PT2B very good budget array I cross them @ 2500 hz at frist and then I try to cross @2000 hz and 2200 hz. I like the sound @ 2200 hz. Mid m4n w/4th order and pt2b w/8th order (DCX2496). I can't wait to listen to new array. Will continue.

hello im new to this thread so id like to say hello to everyone.
I have question for akgapong i like this design of system. is there any way of getting a copy of the plans for these? i have been kicking around the idea of building a set of these for awhile now but cant find any real info online for them. the only ones i find are the ls6, ls9 and the colossi on the project page.
thanx for your time.

don't stand too close to those or it's quite possible to have your face blown off by them :D those look great!

10-15-2010, 08:43 PM
HI:)
Gorbs :D Thanks for that.
Sinaster 74:rolleyes: I think the ls6 or the ls9 is the way to go, because those arrays use the planar as my and passive crossover. My arrays for active system and require a lot of amplifier...active crossover and so on.
Thanks,
Iggy

yeh but id rather build my own.its more fun for me that way. as for amps i have 2 totaling about 1800 watts. and i have no problem with going active on the x-over either. and i was going to use the B&G Neo8-PDR paired with the Dayton RS180-8 7" Reference Woofer anyways.im just not sure of the internal volume.

PLEASE tell me you've fired these up and listened to them at this point. I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that after that long of a project, they are ready to go and just waiting on proper dac/amplification!
I'd have to cover them until then so I wouldnt get depressed!
The cabinets look quite good...very nice job you've done there. Congrats !! :D

Nice enclosure. Thats going to be really nice.
For my Gainclone I used a nice aluminum rackmount enclosure (black though) and they look classy like that. Looking forward to seeing your project completed (as Im sure you are !) :)

Thanks for that. My enclosure from NJ. not bad for the dac. I like to buy from Hong Kong was nicer, but the shipping will kill my bank.
Can you show some pics of your enclosure? Please;)
Yes, I finished the dac today.....but I'm working tomorrow. May be sunday.

Sure thing Iggy. I got mine from Par-Metal. They have the machined aluminum faceplate.
Sorry, apparently I didnt take pics of the completed amp ...doh
Here's what I have on the computer though. The enclosures are very nice.
Great sound out of such a simple chip amp design.
