I never really looked at the Dayton 18 for a bass horn speaker but the specs look good for one. For 90 bucks, it's worth a try. I'll probably blow the cone apart but it should be fun. Anyone use this driver? Regards, Robert.

Well I guess the ebp of 96 isn't that good, but it's cheap. Robert.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Classic. Kind of similar to the DefTech 18's they had some years back, for which I've never come up with an alignment that would be worth two sheets of birch ply. The best model I had was only 130 cm long - not down very low and almost no impedance rise. Try to get to the 30's with it and you'll end up with 8 dB of ripple.

Not to emntion what happens when you try to put 1000 watts into it - but you already knew that.

Happy Thanksgiving, I just skimmed pass this driver before work and saw a low qts and high bl and thought for 90 bucks it looks ok. Guess not, maybe I'll get a couple and bass reflex. Just seems hard to pass up for that money. I'll have to model it and see if it's worth the effort. Enjoy the day with your family. Robert.
