View Full Version : Sub Amp Question

I built a sub setup for my home theater system using a couple of Kicker 10" subs and a Paradigm active crossover/sub control unit. Now I need an amp that pushes about 1,000 watts at 8ohms. I'm thinking a Behringer EP2000 would work. Anyone use a pro audio-type amp for home use?

Yep.. many guys here have one or more.:D
There are lots of pro amps that will deliver around 1kw into 8r when bridged, most have fans that run all the time but there are many others including some old school pro amps that don't have any fans.

Thanks. Do the XLR male to RCA female adapters work well? I don't want something that will add noise to the system.

Yes the adapters work fine but an alternative is to simply chop one end off a set of RCA patch cords and install XLR or TRS connectors, pin 2 gets the central conductor and pin 1 the sheath/ground.
